McCain has the right idea. The more insurers there are in the market of health insurance will bring down the cost. Competition in the market place does that. Allowing the Free Market to do what it does is key. No individual has the right to be insured on the dime of another. Our nation has demonstrated that it possess "God Ideas" in that it provides charity through the vehicles of of various "welfare of the individual less fortunate programs." Those programs are not to be exploited as they have been. The tax credit that McCain offers should meet the cost of the premiums paid by individuals or families. Again, to make another individual pay for the healthcare of another is not just. Many Americans ignore the risks that accompany certain lifestyles and behaviors. From the consumption of unhealthy foods, to the excesses of drugs and alcohol. Those practices expose those Americans to diminished immune systems and disease. Their choices to live lives at risk is just that - their choice. I choose to not have to pay for those choices. While at the same time choosing to discuss how we can more efficiently provide healthcare for those who are truly in need. Why do we need the government? For regulation. So that the systems we as Americans agree to have, are free from abuse and scandals. To protect the interest of the Americans who fund such systems. To maintain a fiduciary position, providing all things open, honest and simple. In a truly Free Market, healtcare for many more Americans would increase. Let the Free Market Reign
